@aktivistin – you dont always have to buy plants in bulk if you have got the know how you can easily grow lots of plants from your own garden and use those al your forking out for is the compost then alot cheeper , or at least help someone with a garden to raise lots of plants to be used :o )

@TheGuerrillaGardener – obviously i was meaning that the plants that reclaim it are important stages in going back to woodland, as i wrote, not that i expected they are always going to get a chance to do so.
it’s about removal of pollinators food and wildlife habitat too.

but if u stopped them strimming it then that is good on many levels (including preventing waste of tax money, use of fuel), so then what i wrote wouldn’t apply to that then.

@randomlaughingman In case you’re not laughing and not familiar with traffic islands in London… well the thing is leaving them untouched by humans to mature into woodland is impossible. Had we not removed what was there the landowner would have done what they do elsewhere and periodically strim back the weedy grass to a fairly desolate lawn landscape. Instead, we have created an environment that I believe is more bio diverse and healthy for us all. Read my book for more info.

not sure how much this applies here, but wtf i can’t believe even this has been taken over by the evil.

people are actually – removing plants. and calling that guerilla gardening.

there’s no such thing as weeds, as all real gardeners know. those plants are very important stages in nature reclaiming sites, if they were left then eventually the woodland comes back.

guerilla gardeninh is supposed to be about RE-GREENING NON-GREEN SPACES, not destroying wildlife habitat that reclaimed on its own

Absolutely wonderful-beautiful plants in the midst of the concrete jungle. Humans rejoice! Namaste

I’m doing it as a team of one n Ohio myself. Planted all my flowers from seed and ready to transplant. I do think that seed bombs may be a good idea as the roots take hold in the place they will grow. Keep up the good work.

It doesn’t improve the handling, but it definitely improves the aroma.

Does the Lavender improve the handling of the Porsche? I heard the factory was officially endorsing ‘Hidcote’.

I don’t think it’s a rich person’s activity, nor a strictly a kids’ game–they buy their plants in bulk and take donations, and even Richard’s granny got in on the action! I’m inspired by this, too, especially by the community-building aspect of it.

We all know that money helps but we’re talking about planting things here, not Formula 1 racing, or Jet Skiing. I don’t own my own home, I’ve got two kids, I’m not rich but I’m inspired by this. I hope lots of others are too. If I lived in Pittsburgh I’d contact sweetmelissa and help her sort out a team of 2. Meanwhile, think I’ll be speaking to people where I live in Sydney. Power to the Guerrilla Gardeners.

I absolutely love what you are doing.
I wish I could do that here(Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)…but I would be a team of 1.
You should see how ugly things are around here!
