Most come to the United States for a better living but his family on the other hand came because his father was the first and youngest Liberian to have managed an American corporation in Liberia. His skills rewarded the family to fly Pan Am airlines at the time to start a life in the states. Unfortunately the company went bankrupt and left them stranded in a world his father was not familiar with, which lead him to become a taxi driver in New York City. Due to the Liberian civil war that broke out months after their arrival, killing over hundreds of people daily, the family decided to stay in attempt to prosper. In 1984 a new member was presented to the family, kNERO’s first little sister. His father no longer drove a taxi but his mother still worked as a housekeeper.
